The Ashburton Club & MSA
Our Story
The Ashburton Club and MSA opened as a gentlemen’s club in the Ashburton Arcade in 1885. The Club has been in its current location on Burnett/Havelock Street since 1920.
Known far and wide during the 1900s, as it was one of the few places legally allowed to sell alcohol during the prohibition years as a registered Working Men’s Club and not a bar.
Today, the Club has a thriving local membership. We welcome Ashburton members and their guests, as well as members from over 300 affiliated clubs nationwide. International visitors from Australia and other countries from other affiliated clubs can also make use of our facilities while visiting Ashburton.
MOVING THE CLUB FORWARD, TOGETHER
Our Committee
The Ashburton Club and MSA Committee are a group of selected long-standing club members from the Ashburton community.
Together, they are committed and dedicated to seeing the club grow and thrive well into the future. The committee enjoys spending time with all club members and welcomes all feedback.
